Trials of Latest Broadband Technology Show Promise

Experts say "Fibre to the distribution point" - or F-T-T-D-P - is potentially ten times faster than the federal government's current preferred option, "Fibre to the node" - but slower than yet another alternative.

It comes as Australia slides further down global rankings of internet speeds, to the 60th fastest.
