Advocates say women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds may experience different barriers when it comes to getting support,


Highlights

  • 1 in 6 women, and 1 in 16 men, in Australia have experienced physical or sexual violence by a current or previous partner since the age of 15.
  • 1 in 4 women, and 1 in 6 men, have experienced emotional abuse, adds the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
  • Advocates say workplaces should do more to offer support.

They also say workplaces need to do more to support survivors of domestic and family violence.
