Volunteering 'a double-edged sword' as bushfire recovery moves forward

More than a month after the Gospers Mountain bushfire tore through parts of the New South Wales Blue Mountains, recovery for many residents and businesses is well underway.


Australia's bushfire disaster has triggered billions of dollars in donations from ordinary people - with relief agencies even begging donors to stop delivering food, clothing and household goods.

 

But for volunteers much closer to those affected, the contributions have been invaluable.
