Queensland naghahanda para sa Tropical Cyclone Owen

Ayon sa Bureau of Meterology, nagsimula na itong magbaybay patungong silangang bahagi at patuloy na lalakas. Maaari rin itong maging category four cyclone, na may bugso na 280 km/h, kapag tumawid na ito sa Gulf of Carpentaria's southern coastline.
"It will approach the coast later on today and into this evening, but it 's now looking like early tomorrow morning," sinabi ni Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jonte Hall sa ABC radio noong Biyernes. .

 

Sinabi ni Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk na nababahala ang mga awtoridad sa posibleng landslides na magaganap kung magkaroon ng malakas na pag-ulan sa central Queensland, kung saan nagkaroon ng bushfire kamakailan. 

Ngunit nakahanda ang mga awtoridad sa anumang pinsala sa mga lugar sa estado habang inaasahan nila ang maulan na panahon. 

Magpapadala sila ng karagdaagang rescue at emergency crew sa cyclone warning area.
