KEY POINTS

• Ayon sa ulat, may mismatch sa pagitan ng naghahanap ng mga trabaho at bilang ng mga entry level position na available. Binatikos din dito ang mga kamalian ng mga support services.
• Nasa 557,000 katao ang tumatanggap ng unemployment payment sa mahigit isang taon. Samantala, papalo sa 190,000 katao naman ang umaasa sa income support sa mahigit limang taon at 8 porsyento lamang ang nakakakuha ng trabaho.
• Ang Australia ay nagbibigay ng $56 kada araw na payment, pinakamababa sa lahat ng tatlumput walong O-E-C-D o Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development na mga bansa. Nanawagan sila sa pamahalaan na palakihan ang welfare payment sa $82 kada araw, tapusin ang automated payment suspension, at magtayo ng mga independent quality assurance body para sa mga employment service provider.
