Ipinapakita ng National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy o NAPLAN ang taunang assessment sa academic performance ng mga estudyante sa Australia.

Isa sa bawat tatlong estudyante sa year three, five, seven and nine ay hindi nakakamit ang inaasahang academic level sa reading, numeracy at writing.
Binanggit naman ng pederal na gobyerno na naglagak sila ng halagang 16 billion dollars sa mga pampublikong paaralan sa susunod na sampung taon na may pondong nakatutok sa mga totoo at praktikal na reporma.
Inilarawan naman Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority ang resulta bilang 'stable'.
