More hospitalisations and a stagnation in vaccine uptake... across 33 countries in parts of the European region. The head of the W-H-O's European branch points out that vaccination is a right, but it's also a responsibility.

The increase in case counts is ten percent or more, with COVID-related deaths rising to 11 per cent over the last week in the region. This appears to be caused by a summertime surge in travel, easing of restrictions, and the Delta variant.  In France, coronavirus health passes will be pre-requisites for workers in the hospitality industry. The COVID pass requires proof of vaccination, a fresh negative virus test or recovery from COVID-19.  In Cuba, the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine is being applied alongside its homegrown Soberana Plus booster shots.
