Finnish elections approaching, Timo Uotila reports on Finnish current affairs 30.1.19


The Finnish prime minister wants to introduce an entry test for  immigrants to measure how well they understand the functioning  and social norms of Finnish society.

In the campaign for the coming elections the Social Democrats will concentrate on education, fair working conditions, the reduction of inequality and fighting climate change. The Greens will focus on Climate, education and the reduction of poverty. The Left Alliance will highlight  inequality, health care and aged care.

There are over 250.000  Finns living overseas who are eligible to vote in these elections and they have for the first time postal voting available to them
