Australia is the only western democratic nation without a charter of human rights

The ability of the community to put pressure on government to instil change is something that also Independent Kerryn Phelps  says she's proud  to contribute to while in Parliament for less than a year, such as helping get asylum seeker children removed from detention on Nauru.
