A new study has found even a mild case of COVID-19 can cause significant damage to the brain and symptoms that continue even after recovery.

Researchers found the brains of those infected with the virus shrunk in areas critical for smell, memory, cognitive function and emotion, resulting in symptoms such as brain fog  and difficulties concentrating on a task at hand long after recovery. Loss of taste and and sense of smell are also common.
