The death of a Melbourne mother from flu-like symptoms has caused some to question the quality of this year's flu vaccine.
Some doctors say it was a lower strength version, a claim the government strenuously denies. Last year there were nearly 91,000 laboratory-confirmed notifications of influenza in Australia last year. So far this year, there have been nearly two-and-a-half times as many cases, with almost 220,000 notifications
