In the dying days of the Second World War 75 years ago, the nuclear age dawned.


In a flash on the 6th of August 1945 with the detonation of the world’s first atomic bomb and the death of 80,000 mainly civilians in Hiroshima, an unimaginable horror was unleashed; a whole city flattened and its population killed or maimed.
