Most Australians believe climate change is a reality and fear the impact on food supply and crop production as a result. The findings come in the latest Climate of the Nation report which shows Australians are increasingly worried about climate related events such as extreme weather and water shortages

Close to 2000 Australians took part in the survey, with government population data used to ensure the sample reflected the spread of people across the nation.    The number of people who think climate change is occurring matches the record high rate of 77 per cent from 2016; while 12 per cent don't believe it's happening and 11 per cent are unsure. The results reflect a need for Australia to have a more ambitious climate policy.
