Industry insiders have spoken out about a shortage of aged care workers available to service elderly residents of multicultural backgrounds. The reduced intake of migrants into Australia because of the pandemic and border controls has left gaps in the aged care industry workforce.

Tina Parisi is a support worker in aged care based in Melbourne who has been living and working through the coronavirus pandemic. Ms Parisi says the pandemic has been a long two years for her.   Since covid-19 infections began, the demand at work has risen and she has been working consistently six days a week apart from a 10 day holiday last January
