Members of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's government are receiving warm receptions overseas, ahead of the NATO Summit in Madrid this week. The Prime Minister has thanked Australian troops stationed in the Middle East during a quick stop in Dubai. But back home, a fight over staffing allocations for crossbenchers awaits a resolution.

The trip marks the beginning of a major international tour which includes with the NATO Summit in Madrid.  The meeting comes against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, with discussions expected to heavily revolve around the issue. But it's not just Russia, but China's aggression, too, that will be on the agenda.
