The Australian Federal Police has unveiled the results of an unprecedented covert operation against criminal gangs. The crackdown has disrupted what police call industrial scale illicit drug trafficking into the profitable Australian market.

Operation Ironside began three years ago with help from Europol and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Police allege they have captured some of Australia's most dangerous figures including members of outlaw motorcycle gangs.  Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw says more than 200 people have been arrested.
