President Vladimir Putin and president Sauli Niinistö discussed bilateral co-operation, waste disposal, the environment and economic matters. In the evening the peresidents had dinner at Suomenlinna, the old Sea Fortress in Helsinki.
The Social Democrats suggest moving to a 6-hour, 4-day working week. This represents an opposite position to the previous government which extended, without extra pay, the working hours of the largely female and poorly paid public service workers.
LPG powered cars are becoming more common in Finland, mainly because they are cheaper to use. At the same time the imports of second hand cars is increasing, in particular from Sweden where LPG powered cars are common. Government policy is also for at least 50,000 LPG powered cars in Finland by 2030
