Scammers divert aid funding from Ukraine

There are large amounts of misinformation online about the war in Ukraine floating around online. While some of it is being pushed for political reasons, cybercriminals have also been hijacking the outpouring of sympathy for Ukraine, using emotionally charged posts to channel donations away from charities.

As war broke out, Ukraine's President Zelenskyy made a plea for donations to help his country defend itself.  His call was answered.  Ordinary citizens around the world, horrified by the news, have sent billions of dollars.  And it set something else in motion too - criminals.  Scammers fired into action, making fake appeals from every corner of the internet.
