Whether you use a credit card, Paypal, or a single-use card, if you spend money on a fake website built by fraudsters, you'll be left disappointed. The A-C-C-C says its Scamwatch service has already received over 26,000 reports of online scams this year - that's more than in all of 2020 and totals nearly $13-million. The Commission says there are ways to ensure you get what you pay for online.

Australia is about to enter one of the busiest retail sales periods of the year at the start of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Many stores have begun early, looking to recoup some of the lost revenues during lockdowns around the country. But shoppers are all being warned - this is also a busy time for scammers.
