The Australian Chamber Orchestra's chairman Guido Belgiarno-Nettis am and Michelle Belgiarno-Nettis have purchased a 1726 Stradivarius violin for long term loan to the orchestra.

The instrument has been named the 1726 Belgiorno Stradivarius in honour of its generous donors and is played by the ACO's Principal Violin, Satu Vänskä.

Satu says that owning a Stradiavarius is practically impossible for her generation of musicians, so to be the custodian of such an extraordinary instrument is an opportunity of a lifetime.

The Belgiorno Stradivarius can be heard when Satu performs Beethoven's Romance for Violin and Orchestra in the ACO's Nicole Car concerts, touring nationally 8-24 April 2018
