Helene Schjerfbeck's painting 'Factory workers on their way to work' ha attracted much interest because the self portrait of the artist on the back of the painting. The work is now displayed so that both sides of the work can be seen.
The 10th of July is also Helene Schjerfbeck's birthday and there is an annual painting event held in her honor in different parts of Finland. Timo has taken part several years in a row, so also this year. It is Summer festival season in Finland, one of many is the annual folk music festival in Kaustinen.
Timo is looking forward to meeting up with the numerous Australian Finns who come visiting in Summer.
