The Finns' initial enthusiasm for assisting Ukarainians has lessened.

The Western sanctions against Russia have been tightened but there is a gap in personal sanctions. Russianas are able to travel to Finland from whrere they can travel to other EU countries.

Minister Aki Linden says the health service need more funding including a wage increase for nurses.

The European Central Bank has raised interest rates by 0.5% which causes difficulties for borrowers.

A walrus came from the Atlantic into the Baltic sea and swam to Kotka on the Finnish coast where it left the water and was found in a home garden starving and extremely weak.  The attempt to transfer to the animal hospital at Helsinki Zoo failed as the animal died in transit.
