Finland to receive first installment of EU support payment in October 63% of population is double vaccinated The government has given a corona passport draft to parliament for consideration Low birthrates and low immigration level threatens pension system

Finland will receive the first installment of EU financial support in October; initially this will be  just under €300 million.

The protection offered by two vaccinations diminishes sooner than expected. A new study shows that the protection offered by the vaccine declines significantly over 7 months.

The government has presented a corona passport draft to parliament for consideration. An agreement on the details of such a passport has not been achieved.

New modelling forces Finland to again review its pension system. This was last done in 2017 but current projections point to low birth rates and low level of immigration makes it difficult to finance the old age pension system.
