Finland has been developing defense co-operation with the US rather than NATO, perhaps people are concerned that NATO turn out to be as chaotic as the EU.

The opposition has criticized prime minister Sanna Marin's comments about Finland's possible NATO membership after she said that Finland was unlikely to join during this term.

The Finnish regional election gave the conservative Kokoomus party a clear win, followed by the Social Democrats and the Centre Party.

Domestic shoe manufacturers experienced a boom due to the cold weather in Novmenber while imported shoes were less available because of transport problems.
