Most world leaders have acknowledged Joe Biden as the newly elected President of the United States and have been quick to pledge cooperation. Several leaders are yet to comment. For others, the end of the Donald Trump era brings fresh uncertainty.

World leaders and keen observers have responded in different ways to the outcome of the US election.  Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison thanked President Donald Trump, and congratulated Mr Biden by inviting him to visit Australia next year. Another close ally, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson shared his enthusiasm for a Biden victory, calling on the US to lead the global response to climate change.
