The incident happened last month, but Danny Henricks uploaded the video this week.
The man from Victoria told ABC he saw the shark, but wasn't too worried as they don't normally bother divers. The shark first approached him slowly, then charged him, impaling itself on the spear.
Danny swam back to the surface to reach his boat, leaving the speargun underwater. He said he will return spearfishing, but probably not alone next time...
