Brendan Berne, Australia’s ambassador to France wasted no time after the passage of same-sex marriage bill, popping the question to his longtime partner, Thomas Mart.

“As ambassador to France, this is a great day for my country Australia which has passed marriage for all. But also for me personally,” Berne said.

It's taken an embarrassingly long time to get marriage equality, but finally, it's done

Brendan Berne posted the video less than four hours after the same-sex marriage bill passed through parliament in Canberra.
