"Jingle bells, jingle bells ..." you know the song  .. well, every year, the Australian army takes matter in its own hands. Once again, this year, mid-December, soldiers dropped large packages from the air, over several Pacific islands. What's inside?  food, clothes, fishing equipment and gifts!

A tradition since 1952

Since 1952, this tradition has helped the more distant islands of the western Pacific Ocean. Hardly accessible by boat,  waterproof packages are dropped nearby and then recovered by the inhabitants. Letters are also left by Australian children. A hundred packets have been delivered this year. An operation conducted jointly with the Japanese and American armies.
