Lors des mondiaux de natation qui se tiennent actuellement au Japon, Léon Marchand a battu le record du monde du 400m 4 nages, avec un temps de 4 min 2 sec 50/100. Le jeune Français de 21 ans pulvérise ainsi le record de l'Américain Michael Phelps, qui remontait à 2008.
