En février 2024, lors de l'hommage national rendu à l'ancien garde des Sceaux Robert Badinter décédé à 95 ans, Emmanuel Macron annonçait sa volonté de le voir intégrer le Panthéon. Une promesse tenue puisque l'ex-ministre de François Mitterrand à rejoint plusieurs grands noms de l'histoire de France.
