Ο ταβάς είναι ένα παραδοσιακό Κυπριακό πιάτο που περιλαμβάνει, συνήθως, κρέας και πατάτες. Η Άντζελα Νικολέττου μας δίνει μια νόστιμη συνταγή για αρνάκι στον ταβά. Είναι ευκολότερο και νοστιμότερο απ΄ότι ακούγεται.


Tava (Cypriot lamb bake)

Ingredients

1 kg lamb chops

1 kg potatoes, cut into thick slices

2 onions, sliced

4 tomatoes, sliced or 1 can diced tomatoes

2 tsp cumin seeds

½ cup parsley, chopped

½ cup extra virgin olive oil

Method

Heat oven to 180C.

In a large baking dish place all the ingredients as well as salt and pepper (make sure to season the lamb well) and gently mix to combine. Add half a cup of water, cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Remove foil and bake for a further 45 minutes or until the lamb and potatoes are well cooked.
