“The Greek Festival of Sydney is one of the longest running cultural events in NSW,” Mr Williams said.

Greek Orthodox Community of NSW President Harry Danalis said the Greek community was delighted to receive support from the NSW Government.

“The Greek Festival of Sydney is an internationally renowned event which showcases the best of Greek and Greek Australian heritage and culture,” Mr Danalis said.
“The Festival attracts interest from artists and performers from around the world and is a much-anticipated event for the whole community.”
“Across our eight-week program commencing in March 2019, there will be something for every member of the family to enjoy.”
Mr Coure said the Festival was a staple event for the local Greek community.
“The Greek Festival of Sydney enriches our local community both socially and economically,” Mr Coure said.

The announcement was made last Monday at the NSW Parliament duting a meeting between Mr. Williams, Mr. Coore and a delegation from the Greek Orthodox Commiunity of NSW,m consisting of the President Harry Danalis, Vice-President and chari of the Greek Festival, Nia Karteris, Secretary Michael Tsilimos and Treasurer, Chris Mpelerhas.
