The Archbishop was welcomed at the entrance of the Community's building on Lonsdale St in the centre of Melbourne, by Vice President, Nikos Koukouvitakis and Treasurer Dr Marinis Pirpiris.
He was shown around the building where he was also informed about the various Greek language programs the Community provides and took a particular interest at the Ancient Greek program, expressing the wish to may be meet with the students during a future visit to Melbourne, and hear them recite ancient Greek text.
Archbishop Makarios later had a meting with Community board members.
Before that he spoke exclusively to SBS Greek.
