The London family of a Gallipoil solder has donated the Bible that literally saved his life to the Anzac Memorial in Sydney.
Alister Ross was a corporal in the Australian infantry when a bullet and a piece of shrapnel hit him in his left breast.
The 22-year-old survived thanks to a pocket Bible his mother had given him, the dense pages stopping the metal from piercing his heart.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says the donation is an important contribution.
