Brisbane: Extra $40 million in Great Barrier Reef funding in next month's budget

The Great Barrier Reef will get a funding boost in next month's state budget, taking the government's investment to a record $330 million over five years.

Announcing the new funding on Langford Island in the Whitsundays, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the funding would go towards programs to restore and protect the Reef.
