"Today's stories on ancient vases": Cycladic Museums’ kids’ art contest has returned
The Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens has officially launched the 11th International Kid’s Art Contest. Entries have already opened since February 15 and will remain open until April 22.

The 11th International Kids’ Art Contest presented by the Museum of Cycladic Art invites kids between the ages of 4-15 years old to send a message to future generations under the theme: "Today's stories on ancient vases".
“If ancient people provided significant images of their lives painted on clay vases, what would you choose to leave as footprint to future generations?”
As literal time capsules of analogue information, artifacts from antiquity have served historians and archaeologists with a wealth of depictions, providing them a view into to the past, to comprehend and further understand how our ancestors and ancient civilizations came to be; and in turn, disappear.
From February 15 until April 22, participants at the Art Contest will be investigating the permanent exhibition "Scenes from Daily Life in Antiquity”, located on the 4th floor of the Museum facilities.
The organisers, seek to draw parallels to the past as present, and to the present as future, while exploring and learning about the life of ancient people through artefacts and themes from the Classical and Hellenistic eras.
The Contests’ results are expected to be released sometime in June and the children's’ works will be presented in an exhibition during the 2nd Cycladic Kids’ Festival in September 2024.
