In this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Yianna Terzi represents Greece with the song "Oniro mou".

Greek-born Yianna Terzi hails from a musical family and was inspired by artists like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson from a young age.

The Greek song is called Oniro Mou which translates in English as My Dream. It was written by Terzi alongside Greek musician Aris Kalimeris, producer Michalis Papthanasiou and renowned composer and producer Dimitris Stamatiou who has collaborated with artists like Snoop Dogg.

But which ones are Greece's best Eurovision entries from 1974 to date?

England 1974 - Marinella

In 1974 Greece made its debut entry in the Eurovision Song contest Marinella, who was already famous in Greece, sang "Krasi, Thalassa Kai T' Agori Mou" (in Greek "λίγο κρασί, λίγο θάλασσα και το αγόρι μου", meaning "a little wine, a little sea and my boyfriend"). The song was presented fifth out of the seventeen entries of the night At the close of voting, the performance had received seven points, placing it eleventh in the field of 17.

Londo 1977 - "Mathima Solfege"

"Mathima Solfège" was the greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest performed by the constellation Pascalis, Marianna, Robert & Bessy, made up of Pascalis Arvanitidis, Marianna Toli, Robert Williams (born in Greece to British parents; of Poll fame) and Bessy Argyraki, all four established solo artists in their own right before entering the Contest. The music was written by Giorgos Hatzinasios and lyrics by Sevi Tiliakou.

At the close of voting, it had received 92 points, placing 5th in a field of 18.

As the title suggests, the song features a number of musical terms, with the singers expressing their great love of the discipline and their claim that it can serve as a unifying agent in the world.

Copenhagen 2001 - Antique - "Die for you"

"(I Would) Die for You" (often shortened to "Die for You") is a song released by Antique. It was the Greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001, performed in English and Greek (the first Greek entry not to be performed entirely in Greek) by Antique, a duo consisting of Elena Paparizouand Nikos Panagiotidis, both born and raised in Sweden by Greek parents.

Turkey 2004 - Sakis Rouvas - "Shake it"

"Shake It" is an English language song by Greek singer Sakis Rouvas and was the Greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. In the final, it was performed sixteenth.

Belgrade 2008 - Kalomira - "Secret Combination"

"Secret Combination" is a song and CD single by Greek American singer Kalomira.

It was Greece's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 and the first single released from Kalomira's fourth studio album titled Secret Combination the Album. It earned third place in the Eurovision final, finishing behind Russia and Ukraine, despite leading early in the final vote.

Kiev 2005 - Elena Paparizou - "My Number One"

"My Number One" is the 2005 winning song of the 50th Eurovision Song Contest being the 2005 Eurovision entrant for Greece performed by Elena Paparizou credited as Helena Paparizou. Written by Christos Dantis with English language lyrics co-written by Natalia Germanou, "My Number One" awarded the first victory to Greece in Eurovision.

The song is notable for casting elements of traditional Greek music in a contemporary dance music setting: its arrangement includes bouzoukis and a solo featuring a Cretan lyra.
