Federal Victorian MPs held crisis talks with PM

Prime Minister Scott Morrison held a crisis meeting with Victorian MPs in Canberra on Monday after a thumping Labor win in the state poll on Saturday.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has held crisis talks with Victorian Liberal MPs to discuss the aftermath of the landslide result state election result.

The state Liberals’ disastrous loss in the has put the government on shaky ground, with The Australian reporting up to seven federal seats could be in danger.

Ahead of the meeting, senior Victorian senator Scott Ryan said there should not be litmus tests on social issues or climate change to be considered a "real Liberal" and he cautioned against telling people they are "not conservative enough".
