Fires in Greece have caused severe devastation this week, leaving destroyed homes, cars, buildings and a rising death toll in their wake.

The Community will be facilitating an open forum on Friday 27 July in an effort to assist those affected by this disaster.

“I encourage all members of the wider community to attend and exchange ideas and contribute in any way possible to aid efforts”, said president of the GOC, Mr Harry Danalis.

“This is a difficult time for many Greeks, and we need to come together as a community to help our fellow countrypeople whose lives have been thrown into chaos by this tragedy”, said Mr Danalis.

The gathering will take place at the premises of the GOC, 206-210 Lakemba St, Lakemba, this Friday 27 July at 6.30 p.m.
