Greece calls on Germany to negotiate on war reparations

Greek government submitted a formal request on Tuesday for Berlin to enter talks on paying war reparations.

Greece send a verbale to Germany, repeating a long-held demand for war reparations.

"The Greek government invites the German government to a negotiation for the practical satisfaction of these demands, which are of particular importance to the Greek people, as a moral and material issue," the Foreign Ministry said.

The note, which was delivered by Greece's Ambassador to Berlin to the German Foreign Ministry, calls on the country to open negotiations.
