For the second year in a row, four Greek-Australian artists present their creative work in the group exhibition "4 at Steps" in Melbourne, at The Steps Gallery in Carlton. The exhibition features paintings, drawings, digital art and photography. As with last year, the participating artists are Thalia Andrews, Mary Raphael, Stavros Messinis and Frixos Ioannides.

Thalia Andrews, will be presenting a series of acrylic paintings inspired from the Australian urban landscape. In her own words: “Applying paint to canvas expresses my inner wonder and appreciation of the beauty of the world around us."

Mary Raphael’s work is inspired by the wide Australian outback. She has been working on a series of paintings around the theme of colour and sunlight. Her recent work is the result of a year-long journey in the Australian outback. “My style expresses peace, energy and tranquillity, which flow through me when observing the magnificence of our landscape,” said Mary.

Stavros Messinis is known for his previous exhibitions and his journalistic and literary work. In this exhibition he presents for the first time works from the ongoing series “The Sovereign Sun”. This series is inspired by his poetic composition “Έαρ το Πρώτο” (The First Spring). "The Sovereign Sun" series is part of an ongoing exploration of photography and poetry examining the possibilities of abstraction, colour, light, space and minimalism.

Frixos has previously participated in various solo or group exhibitions these last few years. In this exhibition, he presents a series of works inspired by the natural environment of his native country Cyprus. Some of the works are pen drawings on paper and others are digital prints.

The gallery is open to the public daily from March 22 to March 28, from 10am to 4pm (weekdays) and 11am to 6pm (weekends). The grand opening, scheduled for Saturday, March 24, is free and open to the public.
