This year’s list is the largest in the history of the Order of Australia as 1127 people are honoured.
The Greek-Australians who receive the Member (AM in the General Division of the Order of Australia are:
- Mr Paul Steve Constantinou, from Melbourne, for his significant service to the accommodation and tourism sectors and to the community
- Professor Maria Kavallaris from Bondi Beach, NSW, for her significant service to medicine and to medical research, in the field of childhood and adult cancers.
- Ms Helen Marcou, from Fitzrowy (Victoria) for significant service to music, particularly as a promoter and advocate for live performance.
- Professor Paul Pavli, from Forrest ACT, for significant service to medicine, to patient care and as a researcher and mentor
The Greek-Australians who receive the Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia are:
Mr Christos Kazonis, from West End (QLD) for service to the Greek community of Brisbane
Emeritus Professor Dimitrios Psaros from Merewether (NSW) for service to the community through charitable initiatives
Dr. Peter Charles Marendy (Panagiotis -Kosmas Marentis), from QLD for service to medicines and to the community
