Hearings begin with testimony from Oakden families

The aged care quality, safety and complaints system was at the centre of the first hearing at the aged care Royal Commission in Adelaide.

Investigating the mistreatment of aged care residents and "all forms of abuse" will be high priorities for the commission.

The royal commission is expected to hear from hundreds of witnessing before delivering its final report in April 2020. It will travel around the capital cities, as well as taking evidence from regional areas.
