Gold Coast Power past Moreton Bay
Extra-time was also needed at Wolter Park where an electrician in the crowd allowed the game to be completed.
Moreton Bay United's floodlights went out less than a minute into extra-time against Gold Coast City, but power was restored after 20 minutes which allowed the game to continue.
It was the visitors who scored the vital goal though, Sam Smith earning and converting a penalty with 12 minutes remaining to send City through to the quarter-finals for the second time.
