A 73-year-old Indian woman has become the oldest mum in the world after giving birth to healthy'twins via IVF.
Mangayamma Yaramati, 74, and her husband, Sitarama Rajarao, 82, used in vitro fertilization to conceive the babies.
"The mother and the babies are doing well," Dr. Uma Sankar, the woman's doctor, told BBC Telugu.
The case highlights a growing trend among Indian seniors taking advantage of improvements in medical science to become parents late in life.
