Karolos Papoulias, Former President of the Hellenic Republic dies

Karolos Papoulias was a Greek politician who served as President of Greece from 2005 to 2015.

He was a member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PA.SO.K,), he previously was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1985 to 1989 and again from 1993 until 1996.

He was born on June 4, 1929 (Ioannina, Greece) and died in Athens on the 26th of December 2021. 

 
On April 27, 2005, as the President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias welcomed the then Australian Prime Minister John Howard at the Presidential Palace, in Athens, Greece.
