The International forward has signed on a “multi-year deal”, the announcement said.
The 29-year old has played in previous years with Melbourne Victory and before that with Wellington Phoenix, Brisbane Roar and with Greek giants, Panathinaikos.

He becomes Sydney F Head Coach Steve Corica’s first new signing since clinching the Hyundai A-League Championship last month.

Barbarouses has an excellent record in Australia having played 206 times in the A-League scoring 54 goals, and has twice been named in the PFA Team of the Season.

Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow hailed the arrival of Barbarouses, saying “Kosta has been one of the standout attackers in the Hyundai A-League for a number of seasons and I’m very pleased to have him join the Sydney FC family,”

Steve Corica said he was delighted to have captured the signature of one of the Hyundai A-League’s most sought after players.
“Kosta is an extremely good footballer and is highly regarded as one of the best strikers in Australia,” said Corica.
Barbarouses will join his new Sydney FC team mates when they return for training in July.
