The proposal is for the current one-storey St Nicholas Home for the Aged facility on Gosse Street to be demolished and replaced by a new four-storey building.

It's estimated the new development will cost more than $32 million.

The current facility, which sits next to the Greek Orthodox church, has been operating since the 1990s and had 20 beds.
