Simmo, who was believed to be about 70 years old, died in his enclosure at the zoo on Wednesday.

The zoo stated that Simmo had recently been unwell with suspected gastrointestinal issues, as he had started to refuse food.
“Simmo may have been a fierce predator but he made many people smile, and will be remembered as a beloved crocodile,” the zoo said in a statement.
