Two men who were being chased by police last night in Preston, while driving an allegedly stolen car, died as a result of a fatal crash.

According to a police statement, at around 10 pm the alleged stolen vehicle was heading south on High Street.

Following an attempt by officers to intercept it, the car continued on and collided with a truck at the busy intersection with Bell Street leading to the death of the two men.

The truck in turn hit an Audi sedan while stationary at the intersection.

Both the Audi driver and the truck driver were taken to hospital.

An investigation is been conducted on the fatal crash by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
